HOW DO YOU (WE) VIEW THE FUTURE

 

What is the future all about?

 The future is about the next phase of our life which is uncertain. Lets not be confused about the future because

We live in a world where uncertainty is certain – Pst. Joe.

As young people we have dreams, visions, we keep getting ideas all these are what will facilitate our future. The future is that which is nearby but plain and void, this same future is completely in our hands. God, our parents and other people are minor players to our future, we are the major player to our future.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the future of their dreams” – P – amazing.

The future is a continual end, its great, successful and splendid but we can make it as poor and miserable as anything. This same future is all about action and not intention i.e. it does not base mainly on your belief but on what you will do for your believe to come true. This future has already been intended for us that is why young people should endeavour to work (take action) towards it.  

Proverbs 23:18

“If it is, you have a bright future”

“for surely there is an end, and thine expectation shall not be cut off”

Jeremiah 29:1

“for I know the thoughts that I think toward you siath the Lord, thoughts of peace (good), and not of evil, to give you an expected end”

Before we talk about how to act towards the future lets view it.

Viewing the future

 

Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror for a while? Probably yes but then what did you see? If you looked deep or inside yourself you will see the future.

As I said earlier the future is great all in it is success, possibility and lots of good things. You can be more than how you imagined to be in the future based on how you view it. Daily think about the future; what do you want it to look like.

The future is based on the hands of young people; the future of young people also determines if….

OUR WORLD WILL

Stay the same?

Get worse?

Get better?

If our world will stay the same it implies stagnation.

 

Stagnation: this is the inability to go forward or grow. Stagnation is not good in the life of any individual or organization because at a point such an individual will be outdated, now imagine our world being outdated this means our world will be prone to get worse.

I don’t imagine our world getting worse and I believe other young people don’t imagine so. This is why our future is important, for our world not to get worse our future need to be great.

Young people aim and expect our (the) world to get better, this is why we need to work together as people of the future, to make the future great.

Lets make the future successful by:

1.  Acknowledging God: We should acknowledge God first because he is our source; he is the beginning and end (first and last). As young people for us to get the desired future, looking at our abilities and strengths we are incapacitated. Do you know what

“We can do all things through Christ which strengthens us – Philippians 4:13

As young people in anything, in our move to change the world positively lets acknowledge God first for he will empower us to achieve.

 

2.  Having a vision:

This is one of the most important tools we can use to make our world better. Our future is aimless without visions, setting goals and having a vision is the key we will use to obtain the desired future. The world is prone to be in trouble in the nearest future if we have more young people without vision. To some people who are satisfied and living good lives even some countries imagine if their past generation never had vision. In our society today we see people who are worthless, many of them never had vision, and do you want to end up like them?

Habakkuk 2:2b – 3

“Write the vision and make it upon, tables, that they may run that readeth it. For vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie. Though it may tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come it will not tarry".

As young people lets have vision and lets also write it down for our lives to be programmed. There are may reasons why we should write our visions down but lets consider “remembering the vision” because it involves majorly writing it down. Write it down and always cross-check it. Crosschecking your vision continually empower and motivates you on how to follow, crosschecking of vision makes our lives specific in all making us better people.

“We need to be better people for us to make our world a better place to be”

Your visions, ideas are vital, that’s why the world desperately needs you for change, and they cannot do without you because the future is in your hands.

The future cannot be real now i.e. it cannot come now, it is giving us time for us to build capacity and come to it. What do we need to do to make this future come true as expected.

-         Action:

This is the state at which we (young people) get it wrong. Making the future successful does not end in acknowledging God and having a vision it continues and the major role lies on you and me taking action. Every of our vision and ideas will remain stagnant and may (will be prone to) die if we don’t work towards them by taking action.

Lets start something no matter how little so that we can actualize the great future, many young people after having a vision will give it up without trying , but the truth still remains that starting is very difficult. If we keep waiting for a time to start big, it may never happen because every vision, businesses, ideas and talent is expected to grow big and only small things can grow big.

As young people we should not have any dull moment, this future is something very serious and our world is our life. Imagine this if your life is an egg, can you put it on a ceramic (glass) plate, holding it with one hand and running? The future is the plate while the egg represents our life when we don’t do anything towards the future; we are simply playing with it in turn risking our lives. 

3.     How to activate the future

a.     Setting goals:

As young people there are things which are very important in our life, those are things we need to achieve for us to go higher and actualize the future. Those things which will improve our life let’s always device means at which we can get them. “Only those who set goals achieve” lets set goals and achieve so as the future can be actualized.

b.     Set standards:

In every organization there are rules and principles which govern them. Setting standard means being disciplined and how disciplined any organization is makes it unique and outstanding likewise in the life of any disciplined individual. Imagine if there were no law and constitution in your country what do you think will happen? You are like a country that has no constitution if you don’t have standards. It is not everything that people does you will do, set standards so you can be solid in all achieve.

 

c.      Get started:

How to start is to start. Just ask other people who have started how they started. Work towards your vision, start your ideas, start your talent this are the major tools we will use to change the world.

God can never start for you; he is expecting you to start so that he can join you along. If we get started in our different field, what’s the big deal in the future that we can’t make great.
