CAN I BE A LEADER?

Yes, you can be a leader. Leadership is not managing or directing but
the ability to inspire and influence others positively towards the leaders goal or vision.

Being a leader doesn't necessarily mean you have to be the head (manager) of an organization, firm or any group. To understand the concept leader or leadership, its vital you know not just the literary definition of leadership but what it really means.


1. Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.

2. Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.

3. Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.

Based on the point I gave above, it can be deducted that:
• You don't need to have power for you to become a leader, you only need a mind established on vision to enable you instill the right quality in people.

But in a situation where you are authoritatively given a position in any organization, it still doesn't mean management. It simply means working with vision and people.

Do you think that people who holds position in government, organization and various institutions were born leaders? They are not but they yield their heart towards achieving a goal through leadership.

Why we still suffer the menace of poor leadership in our country, religious group, social groups etc is because of the fear of being a leader.


If you are given a position accept it and if you think you are capable of leading in any organization or group seek for a position. You can be a leader since leadership does not require physical display but dedicated mental work, which means you have to be innovative.

Non was born to rule neither was any born to serve- Leadership is choice and not force. In most countries of the world today, the problem of leadership is still common but we still have potential leaders and personalities who will put an end to the problem of poor leadership if they become leaders but why won't they pick the mantle?
